Transformers Movie 2 Leader Class Optimus Prime Part 5

Autobots, transform and roll out!

More images of Leader Class Optimus Prime in vehicle mode after the transformation from the previous posting.

Bottom view - you can see how the the feet make up half of the truck's length with the unfolded panels. ^^

Comparison with the actual truck from the movie: ^^

Images are from Aeromental.

A very accurate resemblance to the actual model I would say.

As shown in the previous posting, the transformation mostly involves larger parts unfolding to become the exterior plates of the truck. This is clearly illustrated by truck's top and side panel (backpack in robot mode), its body (armor behind the forearms in robot mode) and the head (sole in robot mode). As there are less split panels on these parts, the truck looks a lot more solid, which helps to conceal the robot mode's components very well, much better that the first Leader Class release most definitely. ^^

Comparison with Model 379, the truck released by Peterbilt that Optimus Prime's vehicle mode is based upon:

Images are from Carsbase Dotcom.

Closeups of the truck:

The very important Autobot insignia. ^^

And of course the vehicle mode has its own sound and light gimmick as well, which was already shown in Part 2:

Button on the back to fire the truck's sound and light effect.

Video clip is from Youtube. Follow this link to the website if you can't see anything.

Batteries (included) are stored behind the truck.
This is the first time I see batteries of this particular brand actually. ^^

A little flaw to nitpick: ^^; Position of the rear wheels can be uneven sometimes.

A more detailed comparison between the first movie's release and this one in the next posting will wrap up the review series on Leader Class Optimus Prime. ^^
