MG Johnny Ridden's Customized High Mobility Type Zaku II Ver. 2.0 Part 6

Consistently flamboyant

Finishing up with the work on MG Johnny Ridden's Customized High Mobility Type Zaku II Ver. 2.0's backpack in this posting. ^^

Elaborate details on the main mecha component of the backpack unit.

As usual, painted the pipes in the middle of the part silver. A normal pen is used for this task since the pipes are so small and are situated in such a tight spot for a paint marker to go in.

(Left) Added several other colors to the entire part: gold for the vents, red for the two slits on top of the vent (following the manual shown in the previous posting) and gray for the large vent (?) on the top right corner. All colors are from Gundam Markers.
(Right) Cleaned up all the parts by scratching away excessive paint and adding in panel lines.

Test fitting the covers done in the previous posting onto the vents. ^^

All the other parts for the backpack, which are mainly for the casing.

Painted the little pipes of the round parts on both sides of the backpack using Gundam Marker Plated Silver.

(Left) Just simple panel lining for the main case
(Right) No panel line for any of the details behind the case. ^^;

Back to the 6 hand painted parts brought forth from the previous posting: Excessive red paint on the vent covers and small supporting thrusters are scratched away with a knife.

Same work for the side thrusters, with panel lines added after that.

Painted the bars inside the small supporting thrusters gold using normal pen.

Test fitting all the parts.
Quite a showoff of red and gold definitely, even when the two main thrusters are not in yet. ^^

Some details to be shown for the interior of the backpack as well.
Since the assembly of the parts are not exactly tight, the details can be revealed even when the model is completed.

A lot of work on the backpack alone, but I think the effort is worth it. As with the large legs with extra details and armors, the huge backpack is another signature design feature of this Zaku variation, so I really want it to stand out not only in terms of its size, but details as well. ^^

Done for one component of this Master Grade kit for now, will move on to another one next. ^^
