Play Arts Kai Jeanne Part 5 [Final]

"We used to play together, as friends."

A gathering of both Play Arts Kai Bayonetta and Jeanne in this last posting for the entire review series. ^^

As far as I remembered, except at the very beginning when Bayonetta first met Jeanne, which was even before she received her guns from Rodin, she is shown fighting against Jeanne throughout the entire story, kind of a typical setup of a mighty boss showing up every now and then for the sake of "testing" the main character. ^^ After that first encounter, the only moment the two were shown fighting as a team was at the very end of the entire game.

The first encounter between Bayonetta and Jeanne (jump to 3:17 if you want to skip Enzo's exposition at the beginning ^^):

It would be even more interesting if Jeanne was released in her white Umbran Witch suit. The black versus white contrast between the two would be very exciting to see, very much like that climatic battle near the end of the story as depicted in the game (Jeanne's "henshin" from red to white suit at 5:37 in the first video XD)

I really love these two action figures. ^^ Not merely because of my liking towards the two characters, but for the great details presented on the figures as well. ^^ To some extend, I think folks who are generally into action figures but know nothing about the game would find the superior craftsmanship of these two figures reason tempting enough to get them, if the price is not too much of a burden that is (4,500 Yen each exclusive of tax).

For me, I really hope that this is not the last regular merchandise release for Bayonetta and Jeanne. As mentioned long time ago, I really hope for a 12" action figure version of Bayonetta. ^^ I believe the texture of her costume, all the details and accessories would be even more exciting to see when real fabric, plated parts and other materials are coupled to bring out the beauty of the character, in a much bigger scale.

At the same time, I'm still waiting on a Bayonetta figurine from Yamato, to be sculptured by Studio Reflect's Mitsumasa Yoshizawa (吉沢光正), which has been labelled as a TBA project since July last year. The only remote "hint" we got so far is this poster:

Correction: "Coming Soon!!! (probably)" ^^;
Image is from this previous posting.

That poster, shown at Wonder Festival 2011 [Winter] in February this year, was the exact one used to announce the project back in July last year, as mentioned above. ^^;

No problem, 百忍成金也 - all good stuff come to those who waited. ^^

Temporarily changed my Windows theme and wallpaper to match the two witches' image. ^^
