Gashapon HGIF Gundam Character 3 Vol Gundam SEED Destiny Part 2

For that (repeated) one or two seconds of flashback scene

Introduction on another two figurines from HGIF Gundam Character 3 Vol. Gundam SEED Destiny gashapon set after Yzak and Dearka in the previous posting. ^^ These two are perhaps the most unique ones in the entire set as well, as they can be linked to each other to (somewhat) realize a scene from "Gundam SEED Destiny".

Not to spoil too much up here, since that special feature will be shown below anyway. ^^

[Shinn Asuka]

A little bit of assembly is required, as the figurine is being separated into a few parts.

Apart from Shinn, half a tree trunk that has its own clear base is included as well.

Details of the figurine.

The head can be turned.

Despite being just an accessories, the sculpt and paint work on the tree made it looked very realistic. ^^

Shinn can of course be displayed with that partial tree trunk, but it would make more sense when combined with another figurine in the set, to be shown right after this. ^^

[Mayu Asuka]

A little bit of assembly is required, as the figurine is being separated into a few parts.

A partial tree trunk is included with Mayu as well.
Looking at that tree trunk, I suppose you would have guessed how the items are going to be combined for that scene I mentioned earlier on. ^^

Details of the figurine.

The upper half seems to be lacking in terms of details and textures as compared to the lower half. ^^;

Mayu can be displayed with the partial tree trunk as well.

Like Gunpla parts, the two halves of the tree can be combined.

Not as precise in part separation design as Gunplas, the huge split as seen in the image above cannot be helped. ^^;

The scene showing Shinn playing with her sister long before the incident right at the beginning of "Gundam SEED Destiny" can be realized.

I cannot remember if the scene shown above is indeed in the show, in Shinn's flashback to be exact, since outside of that, Mayu was shown escaping with her family before she was killed, in the first 10 minutes of "Gundam SEED Destiny"'s pilot episode some more. From Shinn's flashback, I only remember a running Mayu who looked back before the image is gone. It's clear because the scene was repeated again and again in the entire show, among many other things. ^^;

Still, the feature of having the separated tree trunk as the accessories to link the two figurines is a brilliant idea. ^^ It's good that the connection between the tree and its base isn't fixed, so they can be used for individual display. That's very useful for those who didn't managed to get both if they didn't get the entire set. The connected tree trunk doesn't just make Shinn and Mayu's poses look acceptable, it's a really beautiful scene too. ^^

It's look much better than that strange gaze between Yzak and Dearka shown in the previous posting. ^^;

On a separate note, the details and paint work on the figurines are really nice to see. The figurines in this particular gashapon set are much smaller and lower in price as compared to MS Gundam Seed Destiny Heroines 7 (200 Yen each versus 400 Yen each), so the level of details isn't as great as the latter, but that certainly doesn't mean the craftsmanship is anyhow sloppy or "cheap-looking". Details such as the figurines' eyes, separated fingers, the stripes on Shinn's shoes, the wrinkles on his jeans, the color separation between his jacket collars and the dark paint area on it, Mayu's ribbons, crest on her school uniform, wrinkles on her skirt and the tree trunk are all very nicely done. Same can be said about Yzak and Dearka shown in the previous posting, but I reckon their pilot suits were a bit plain to really note the details. ^^; With Shinn and Mayu shown in this posting, this feature on the figurines is absolutely noteworthy. ^^

Introduction of another two figurines in the next posting. ^^
