BB Senshi Sangokuden Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku Part 2

Gold and silver don't mix

Finishing up with the work on the parts painted gold in the previous posting. ^^

Panel lines applied to the parts.

(Left) Tons of lines for Shin Koteitou (真・虎錠刀). ^^
(Right) The black sunken areas on the large V-Fin part are painted using a combination of whiteboard marker ink, panel liner and fine tip marker.

Panel lines for the very interesting tiger emblem parts on Sonken Gundam's shoulder armors.

Panel lines for the chest, front skirt and feet armors.

The small diamond-shaped jewel on the chest armor is painted using Gundam Marker Metallic Blue from BB Senshi Sangokuden set.
The marker was previously used for the patterns on Joko Serpent's battle axes. ^^

Some of the other parts that need be painted in gold.
The six tabs to lock some of the movable armor pieces on Korinpaku weren't painted in the previous posting because of their relatively small size and having the middle buttons that need to be in metallic blue; the large shoulder armors weren't painted because there are quite a few colors that need to be applied while some of the clear blue portion need to be preserved at the same time. ^^;

Reference to the tabs and shoulder armors' color from the box side images.

The middle buttons are panel lined and painted using Gundam Marker Metallic Blue first.

The area around the buttons are painted using Gundam Marker Gold.
The paint work covers all possible areas that might be seen when the model is assembled later.

Repetitive short lines and circles added to the six parts. ^^

The clear blue shoulder armor parts are panel lined first before the start of any paint work.

(Left) Painted the tabs and crosses gold using Gundam Marker.
(Right) Excessive paint is cleaned off using toothpick and cotton swap soaked with paint thinner. Knife is not used this time to avoid damaging the clear blue parts. ^^; Panel lines are added to redefine the boundaries between the different segments.

Hand painted the stripes and armor borders using Mr. Hobby's Mr. Metallic Color Silver.

The hollow spots inside the connectors are filled with silver paint to create an image of them having some kind of silver jewels inside. ^^

Excessive silver paint from the paint work is scratched away using toothpick, with is a very tedious work because of the parts' elevation which created sharp angles and hard-to-reach spots. The right image shows a temporary cleanup result. ^^;

And finally the cleaning result that I'm satisfied with. ^^
I would say 90 percent of the excessive paint has been cleaned off from behind the armor parts, after hours of scratching using toothpick. ^^;

Panel lines added/reapplied to the two parts.

Some crazy "w" patterns on the tabs. XD

Done for the paint work on all the tab and armor parts.

Painting, cleaning and panel lining the eight parts shown above is a lot harder than the previous paint work, since the latter was done in batch and indiscriminately on all the parts. ^^;

Still more parts to be painted for BB Senshi Sangokuden Gotaitei Sonken Gundam Korinpaku, and I perceive the work to get tougher too. ^^;
