Keropla God Keron Part 12

That penchant for gold and silver pipes again

Finishing up the work on Keropla Giroro Robo Mk-II after the previous posting. ^^

Unlike the tiny skull sitting inside the sunken area on the crotch piece shown the previous posting, the large protruding one on the chest/head part can be painted a lot easier, hence the Gundam Marker Yellow paint work. ^^

Line details of the cockpit area are done using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

With excessive panel liner paint swiped away using cotton swab soaked with enamel thinner.
Additional panel lines are also added to some of the areas using normal panel liner.

The large skull emblem is panel lined as well. ^^

The Vulcans on the side of the body/head seem a bit too dull. ^^;

Pin vise with 0.8mm drill bit is used to create more realistic-looking muzzle on the four small Vulcan turrets. ^^

(Left) Painted the interior of the two rear thrusters red using Gaia Color No. 003 Bright Red Gloss.
(Right) With excessive red paint on the edge of the nozzles scratched away using a knife. The molded mecha details around the thrusters are done using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

(Left) Seeing how easy the work on this particular Keropla kit is going so far as compared to Tamama Robo Mk-II, I spent a bit of time painting the various pipes on the thruster parts using a combination of gold and silver pens and Gundam Marker Gold.
(Right) Some minor spilled over paint is covered up with new panel lines, redrawn over the original lines.

Test fitting the painted parts to see how the rear thruster would turn out when assembled. ^^

I was thinking of painting the eyes when I realize the lines molded on the white part are not "enough" for that task - two smaller arcs that form the edge of the pupils are missing. ^^;
Guess I'll have to rely on the stickers then. ^^;

The "headlights" on the little control vehicle are painted red using Gaia Color No. 003 Bright Red Gloss.

The intended color as shown on the box side image is green.
Giroro looks just as baffled as I am wondering why that color is chosen. XD

The little skull emblem on Giroro's helmet is painted using Gundam Marker Yellow.

The belt buckle is painted using Tamiya Paint Marker X-11 Chrome Silver.

Giroro's eyes are painted using normal black marker.

Like the same part on Tamama, the mount area of Giroro is painted using normal red marker.

Simple panel lining for another two parts for Giroro's little figure.

And that wraps up the work for Giroro Robo Mk-II. ^^ It's a lot simpler as compared to Tamama Robo Mk-II that's for sure. ^^ There aren't as many parts to paint, and the work on those that do need painting is a lot more straightforward, with usually just one color for that particular part and done.

Such simplicity is foreseeably not available for the last two Keropla kits that form God Keron though. ^^;

hey, great work. I would like to ask if I have a base coat of paint on my model, how do I clean up the panel line excess without wiping off the base paint? I use a little thinner as possible but it still eats into the base sometimes.
