MG Gelgoog Ver. 2.0 Part 6

For the sake of detailing

I'm going really fast with the work on MG Gelgoog Ver. 2.0. Just Part 6 in the entire series and I'm already at the stage where the detailing involved is really optional, ^^; and that the rest of the model kit is already done. ^^

The cockpit part was already panel lined with the body inner frame parts back in Part 3. It's picked out in this posting for some extra detailing. ^^

Various foil sticker and clear sticker cutouts are used to decorate the panels inside the cockpit part. It's the same treatment given to MG Char's Customized Gelgoog Ver. 2.0's cockpit part, but this one is a lot cleaner and tidier in my opinion. ^^

A few tiny details deep inside the part are painted using normal gold and silver paint.

Panel lined the two pilot figures using Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Color (Black).

Referencing the color scheme of the figures in the manual to find out what paints to be used for them. ^^

Part of the suit, helmet, gloves and boots are painted with Gundam Marker Seed Destiny Light Green (GM66) from Gundam Seed Destiny Set 2.

A small display base is made using pla plate for the figure to stand on.
I did the same for the figures of Char and Lalah in MG Char's Customized Gelgoog Ver. 2.0 so the work isn't exactly new to me. ^^

Sanded a "slope" for the front portion of base to give it a better look. ^^

Panel lined the standing figure using normal panel liner.
Some of the more delicate details are left untouched though. The panel line work for those details will only be done after the figure is set onto his little display base.

The figure is attached to the base using cement for plastic kits.

The forehead area of the helmets are painted red using Gundam Marker Red.

The segment details on the arm and legs are done using a normal panel liner. The new base serves as a nice attachment to hold the figure while his suit is being panel lined. ^^

Panel lining on the same areas is done for the sitting figure as well.

The backpacks are painted gray using Gundam Marker.

The visors are painted metallic green using normal pen.

Detailing is done for the standing figure.

Detailing is done for the sitting figure.

The sitting figure with the cockpit part completed earlier on.

The painted figures are secured in separate compartments in a small medicine box to avoid any damage to the paint. ^^

Unlike Char and Lalah (especially the former), generic Zeon pilot suits are a lot simpler in design so the detailing involved is fairly simple. ^^

Overall, everything is just the same as MG Char's Customized Gelgoog Ver. 2.0 so a lot of work is just a repetition of whatever I did for that kit last year. The memory and experience from working on that kit proved to be extremely helpful because for whatever parts I encountered, I just asked myself what did I do for the same thing in Char's customized type and proceed with the same detailing treatment. ^^

As fast as the work went by, there was a slight boredom as well, since there was nothing to be considered new in the entire kit. ^^ Then again, speaking from experience, the completed kit is going to be really awesome. ^^

As usual, there'll be a bit of offset time between now and when I revisit all the parts again for the final assembly. ^^
