MS Gundam Seed Heroines 4 Part 2

Meyrin Hawke

A review on the second figurine from MS Gundam Seed Heroines 4 gashapon set, which started with Lacus earlier this month. ^^ This is Meyrin Hawke.

In many instances, this figurine of Meyrin shared many similarities with her sister from MS Gundam Seed Destiny Heroines 3. Apart from the family connection, they are both the non-standing ones in their respective sets. Their poses are quite similar to each other as well. Meyrin is shown sitting on the floor; while Lunamaria is shown to be in a kneeling pose. ^^ Since MS Gundam Seed Destiny Heroines 3 was the release that preceded this set, I love to think that the connection between the two were intentional. ^^ It would give the two sisters a great paired look when put side-by-side most definitely, and I definitely would like to have that in this posting. ^^

There are quite a few other similarities between Meyrin and Lunamaria from MS Gundam Seed Destiny 3, which will be highlighted throughout this review. ^^

A little bit of assembly required, as the figurine is being separated into a few parts.

Like her sister from MS Gundam Seed Destiny 3, no display base is included for Meyrin (for obvious reason).

More images of this gashapon figurine: ^^

Closeups on the details:

The head can be turned to the sides to adjust Meyrin's viewpoints for a little bit of change in angle of display.

Like Lunamaria from MS Gundam Seed Destiny Heroines 3 again, the skirt that is part of Meyrin's uniform is designed as a separate part that can be detached for an "alternate" display option for the figure. ^^

A skirt-less smiling Meyrin is kind-of cute (^o^), but very weird-looking at the same time. ^^;

An obligatory family shot of the two Hwake sisters: ^^

While there are many gashapon and scaled figurines of Lunamaria in my collection, ^^ this is the first figurine of her younger sister that I got, and the time the two sisters meet each other in all of my reviews so far as well. ^^ More to come for sure, as I have MS Gundam Seed Heroines Hawke Sisters Special set, an entire Gundam Seed Heroines gashapon set dedicated to the two Hawke sisters waiting to be reviewed. ^^

From just the face design alone, the two sisters look pretty much identical to one another. They even wear the exact same smiling expression. ^^ If the figurines were made with greater separation of parts, where their faces are designed to be separate pieces to be assembled onto the respective character's head, I think I'll have trouble distinguishing between the sisters. XD I'm resorted to recognizing them via their ZAFT uniform, hair style and color, and their voice performance as well when I'm watching the anime series since their face design looks identical to me. ^^;

Come to think of it, the same issue can be said about many other characters in the Gundam SEED universe I think. XD Disregarding their hair style and color, all the major named characters pretty much have the same face design. ^^;

With Flay Allster from MS Gundam Seed Destiny Heroines 3 who has the same ZAFT uniform.

Interestingly, Flay's skirt can be detached from the figurine, giving her the same "alternate" display option as Meyrin. ^o^
