Figma Mari Illustrious Makinami Part 3

Amazing small feet

More images of Figma Mari Illustrious Makinami after introducing the huge array of accessories and option parts included for her in the previous posting.

Closeups on the details:

[Head]

[Body]

[Arms]

[Back]

[Legs]

Probably due to her skintight Plug Suit (^o^), Mari seems to be smaller than average Figma figures that have accessories or appendages on their costume, or large hairdo that make them feel proportionately bigger. ^^ The thinness (or should I say slenderness) of her legs is obvious, but the super small size of the boots' soles is even more apparent. ^^ As you can see in the images above, the heel area is actually "missing" (or "retracted"). The ability of the boots to support the entire figure with so little connection with the standing surface is quite amazing in my opinion, even though I said so already back in Part 1. ^^

Then again, due to the character design, overall size of the figure is more of a perception issue I think, if it should be called an issue to begin with. The sculpt work and detailing of the figure are still very detailed and movie-accurate. Looking at the figure right now, I think I prefer the default face expression that features a thin smile on this Figma version over the emotionless look on the Revoltech Fraulein version. Mari was shown to be extremely active in the movie, so the smile on this Figma version definitely fits her image. ^^

On the other hand, a brighter shade of pink would look better for Mari's Plug Suit I believe. The darker shade on the figure isn't horrible, but a brighter scheme would definitely be more suitable, especially in complimenting the smiling default face expression. ^^

Mari with the Entry Plug module shown in the previous posting: ^^

With the tiny soles as mentioned just now, the ability for Mari to stand firmly on the Entry Plug module's seat makes this Figma figure even more cooler than before. ^^

A look at the figure's articulation design coming up next. ^^
