Keropla God Keron Part 29

Where's the tadpole tail?

Tamama Robo Mk-II constantly reminds me of Z'Gok from "MS Gundam". ^^ However, the more I look at it now, just its lower body bears the resemblance to that Zeon amphibious MS it seems, especially the thighs and feet. ^^ The upper body's design is very characteristic of Tamama. ^^ From the candy thrusters, lollipop left saw hand to the ice cream right drill hand, the attempt to add various elements of cuteness to Tamama Robo Mk-II's design to link it with its owner is very obvious to see. ^^ For that character connection, I think Tamama Robo Mk-II did a much better job than Keroro Robo Mk-II. Apart from the overall green and yellow color scheme and giant Keroro face on its chest, there's very little to link between the robot design of Keroro Robo Mk-II with Keroro himself. ^^; The specialized capability of flight given to that robot is not too unique to Keroro as well, since his robots in different incarnations of combinable mecha from this Keropla series were given different roles. In Keroro Dai Shogun, the alternate mode of his robot is a bullfrog; in King Kero Ship, Keroro drives a race car. For Tamama however, all his robots have some association to marine vehicles. ^^

Then again, on the subject of character association, there's no tadpole tail detected behind Tamama Robo Mk-II. ^^ It would be hilarious if it's indeed included. XD

As compared to Keroro Robo Mk-II, a lot more paint work was given to Tamama Robo Mk-II to realize its intended colors. All eight parts of the candy thrusters went through a rigorous paint work to get all the different colors applied; all the white areas on the left arm, included the lolipop saw were painted as well; all the red vents on the back of the model were result of hand painting as well. I'm certainly glad that all the parts turn out well on the completed kit. ^^ The painted part that looks really good on Tamama Robo Mk-II is the cannon muzzle, or the mouth area of the giant Tamama face on the body. ^^ It was totally optional, but I think painting the part red and gold gives it a much better look than leaving it in plain gray. ^^

Some action poses from Tamama Robo Mk-II coming up in the next posting. ^^
