HG 1/144 Ali al-Saachez's Customized AEU Enact Custom Part 7

Wednesday blue

More images of the just completed HG 1/144 Ali al-Saachez's Customized AEU Enact Custom: ^^

Closeups on the details:

[Head]

[Body]

[Wings]

[Arms & weapons]
The longer end of the Defense Rod should be positioned to the top, instead of the opposite shown on my kit. ^^; I went with this slightly different configuration so that the rod wouldn't look taller than the head.

[Legs]
An extremely "blueish" posting this is thanks to the model kit's color. ^^

If I had assembled Overflag earlier, then the anorexic appearance of this kit would seem a bit more familiar to me. ^^ The omission of polycaps already made it felt special during the assembly process, but the thinness of all the components and the completed kit itself made it even more unique. The expanded wings on the backpack try to project a bigger look for AEU Enact Custom, but they aren't deceiving anyone in my opinion. ^^ The thin long legs are more than enough to depict the kit's actual size. ^^

The connection between zero usage of polycap and the model kit's overall size go hand in hand I suppose: as there's no usual polycap set with parts small enough to cater to all the thin components on AEU Enact Custom (as well as Union Flag and all of its variations), so none was included. At the same time, some of the movable components have designated functions in the kit's transformation sequence, so it seem more logical that ABS joint parts that can support those special features were designed instead. Some of the more notable dual-function joint parts include the elbow and hip joints. The former include a straight peg to mount the Plasma Sword, and they also work as connectors to lock the arms to the legs in MA mode (that's actually three functions not two ^^). The different interconnected pegs that made up the hip joints are quite amazing. ^^ As they need to move independently from one another, the hip and joints for the rear hip thrusters are separate hinges, but at the same time, they are all connected to the same straight pegs on which they "swing" around to enable their supposed articulation capabilities. It's a very unique design to begin with, but seeing how all the articulation points are realized through the assembly of tiny parts was very fun. ^^

Apart from the unique thinness of the model kit and the enjoyment from its assembly process, I really like the overall look of this kit. Parts like the spiky feet and knees, blade-like shoulder pads, rifle and head give this AEU Enact Custom a very sharp and fierce look, and I love sharp and fierce-looking mecha design. ^^ The head makes it look like a hammerhead shark donning a samurai helmet crest. ^^ It's small, pointy, but very fierce-looking nonetheless. And on the subject on fierce look, I think this darker navy blue scheme works better than the red Agrissa type as it adds a sense of mysteriousness on top of the MS's sharp appearance. That special "feel" would fit the pilot's demented characteristic better than the brighter colored Agrissa type I suppose. ^^;

Some action poses from this kit coming up in the next posting. ^^
