BB Senshi Sangokuden Asurao Moukaku Gundam, Syukuyuu Gundam, Kyoshin Elephant Set Part 9

Armored unarmored look

Rolling out the first Gunpla of this month, one that belongs to a BB Senshi Sangokuden box set with the detailing and paint work completed since February this year. ^^;

Not completely identical to the nature of Kibutei Sousou Gundam, Joko Serpent and Sohi Gundam Set, I still treat Moukaku Gundam, Syukuyuu Gundam and Kongouyaka as individual kits that can be assembled and reviewed separately. Even though Kongouyaka is more of a support unit, its transformation gimmick, the ability to dock with either Moukaku Gundam or Syukuyuu Gundam, and its sheer size make it a kit worthy of its own review. ^^ Syukuyuu Gundam is going to be the first female BB Senshi Sangokuden character to be assembled in my collection, so she has to have her very own review as well. That's how things are going to be regarding the final assembly of this Gunpla set. ^^

As a result of that arrangement, the most boring, unremarkable kit that is a total waste of space in this BB Senshi Sangokuden set (XD) is of course selected to be assembled first, just to get it right of the way for better and more special things to come in the future. XD

All the paper boxes containing parts for Moukaku Gundam, and the foil sticker sheet.

Parts of Moukaku Gundam's main body.

The character names molded beneath the heels that were painted back in Part 8.

Foil stickers are used for the details on the feet and the eyes.
Pasting the eye sticker proves to be a challenge as the left and right edges need to be inserted into narrow slits that exist between the eyes and helmet. The sticker needs to be curved up a little bit on one side and slide into the slit to complete the work. Special caution is needed to make sure the sticker isn't folded in any way during the process to avoid some nasty lines that would ruin the eyes' appearance.

All major separable components.

Moukaku Gundam in (supposed) plain form is done. ^^

More images of this just completed kit:

Closeups on the details:

Calling it as Moukaku Gundam's "plain form" is not exactly appropriate. ^^; Except for his helmet, backpack and gauntlets, the kit is pretty much completed. ^^; For such armored appearance, there's no point calling it an unarmored form either. ^^;

Some noteworthy features of the kit:

A pair of option spread palms are included. Being a warrior-type character with no handheld weapon, the spread palms are very important to show off Moukaku Gundam's attack poses. ^^

Like Rikuson Z Plus and Tenshouryu Koumei Nu Gundam, Moukaku Gundam has a pair of bendable feet designed for his mode change gimmick with Kyoshin Elephant.

A few action poses from Moukaku Gundam:

Despite being a character who specializes in hand-to-hand combat, the articulation design of Moukaku Gundam is identical to that of a regular BB Senshi Sangokuden kit via the usage of polycap set PC-300. Because of that, I feel like I'm stretching the limit of all the joints to pose Moukaku Gundam's wide upper arm and leg movement in the poses shown above. ^^;

Will move on to the armors' assembly in the next posting. ^^
