MS Gundam Seed Heroines 5 Part 6

Stella Loussier (Part 1)

With an overly long-winded review on S.I.C. Vol. 42 Kamen Rider Den-O Sword Form and Momotaros Imagin (XD), and a rather technical Gunpla assembly of MG Sinanju Ver. Ka dominating the majority of postings for this month, the lack of cutie and element of moe is quite depressing. XD

This review on Stella Loussier, the last figurine from MS Gundam Seed Heroines 5 gashpon set could serve as a nice getaway from all the red hot-bloodiness in the two aforementioned review series. ^^

The package containing parts for Stella.

Stella is actually featured as the box art figurine of this particular set, and not surprisingly so. As mentioned back in Part 1, her costume has the heftiest volume, and the most elaborate design in this entire set to portray her dynamic dancing pose. For that matter, I certainly hope that she is better designed than the other four, which I rated pretty lowly in their separate review postings, ^^; to justify that emphasis. ^^

A little bit of assembly is required, as the figurine is being separated into a few parts.

This closed eye type is the expression of the default face part, but I would opt for the second face part, featuring Stella's more characteristic innocent-looking expression as the default type to show off the figurine in this posting. ^^

An elaborately molded separate part is included to connect the support stand to the figurine's dress.
Given that there's nowhere inside the dress that could feature a connector port without having it poking through the dress, the design of the part is understandable. ^^

Part separation, and small divot molded on top the dress are clear hints that allow the blue top piece, and ribbon to be assembled with ease.

The figurine can actually stand firmly on the display base, having just her right shoe connected to the latter to provide the support.

The support stand has an extra clip that connects to the figurine's thigh for extra support, which is really not necessary to hold the figurine.

More images of this gashapon figurine: ^^

Closeups on the details:

[Head]

The head can be turned to the sides to adjust Stella's viewpoints for a little bit of change in angle of display.

[Legs]

As mentioned earlier on, the second face part, which features Stella's more characteristic innocent-looking expression has been swapped onto the figurine for the photos in this posting. The not-so-special part swapping feature, along with said default face part will be shown in the next posting. ^^

Now, I can certainly see, and agree on why this is the featured figurine of this particular set in the MS Gundam Seed Heroines series. ^^ The figurine is really very well done. The pose is very well designed, and it's being supported by all the beautiful sculpt details on the figurine. The folds on the large dress part is already quite amazing to see, the very graceful-looking sculpt work of the arms, and especially the fingers really breath life into this fixed figurine. ^^

Speaking of display pose, this figurine is definitely the only one that got that aspect right in this set I think. ^^ The pose is very natural-looking, with nothing awkward that stands out and ruins the image - a common "feature", an unfortunately one at that, I noted in the previous four entries of this gashapon set. ^^ Better yet, the side-to-side swivelling point of the neck joint works amazingly well in giving the figurine nice new poses just by a turn of her head. ^^

On other sets, I always see the neck swivel as a bonus feature that is included only due to the figurines' part separation. In other words, the articulation point is there because it can. ^^ On Stella however, it's a feature that can actually give the figurine great new display options.

A look at the additional features of this figurine, and a gathering with the other four from this set to close out the entire review series in the next posting. ^^
