Transformers: Prime Robots In Disguise Decepticon Rumble Part 4

Look at my face, on my chest

More images of Transformers: Prime Robots In Disguise Decepticon Rumble in robot mode after introducing its transformation design in the previous posting. ^^

Closeups on the details:

The light piping design on Rumble allows not just his eyes to light up, but his head crest as well. ^^

[Legs]

Like its small-sized hatchback mode, Rumble in robot mode is a really interesting figure. ^^ Thanks to its small and short legs, he looks squat. That image is further "enhanced" by the large armor panels hanging above its shoulders, which makes Rumble's upper body looks disproportionately broad as compared to its legs. ^^

Besides that figure image, the large Gunman-type chest design (from "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann") is another really interesting visual point to be seen on Rumble in robot mode. ^^ I have no idea what was the initial rationale or purpose for including that large monster face on its chest, but it seems to work really well on the actual figure. ^^ If the upper body is already disproportionately large as compared to the legs, why not incorporate a super-huge head in place of the torso to exaggerate on that look? ^^

To extend on the point regarding the special chest design, great sculpting, detailing, and paint work can be seen on the entire figure. For the Gunman-type face, the metallic black, red and yellow parts of the "mouth" area are painted, but the "eyes" are actually on clear red plastic parts with sculpted line details for the pupils. There are fixed club-like weapons sculpted behind the wings as well, in addition to a set of really lovely molded wheel well details that can only be seen in robot mode. ^^ For a small-sized figure like Rumble, the level of detailing given to it is quite impressive. ^^

If I had to, the only design flaw to nit-pick would be the hollow calves. They are there obviously due to the transformation design, but they are very obvious. ^^; It would be good if each leg was designed with an internal panel that can be flipped outward to cover up the hollow spot after the foot has been extended. ^^

Moving on to the articulation design of Rumble next. ^^
